Hyperion Entertainment is proud to announce the immediate release of update 2 for AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition. Update 2 is by far the largest update ever released for AmigaOS and includes more than 200 updated components with hundreds of bug fixes, improvements and new features and six completely new OS components. The update is the combined effort of four years of AmigaOS development and will bring AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition to a completely new level of stability and usability.

The complete list of updated, improved and new components can be found in the changelog that also contains a list of the major bugs and issues that has been resolved. Some of the highlights of update 2 are.

New kernel (exec) version 54.28 with many bug-fixes and stability improvements
Improvements and bug-fixes in the graphics.library, workbench.library, dos.library, application.library, elf.library and many other essential libraries making them more robust, bug-free and future proof
Bug-fixes and improvements to the USB-stack
Many bug-fixes and improvements to console.device, ram-handler, appdir-handler and env-handler
Many bug-fixes in all reaction classes, datatypes and device drivers
New OS-components such as the append dos command, an OS4.1 version of DiskDoctor from Olaf Barthel, SataControl, appdir-handler, ssh2-handler
Many, many more bug-fixes, improvements and new features
Update 2 is free to registered users of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition and can be found in the download area at https://www.hyperion-entertainment.com/.

We strongly recommend that you install update 2 on top of a fresh install of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition update 1. If you decide to update your existing installation you should back it up beforehand!

Wow, selbst im Traum habe ich solche Neuigkeit nicht mehr erwartet. Ich hoffe, die Anzeige hält sein Versprechen. Nun mal testen und... vorsichtig bleiben

Eben am X1000 installiert. Auf den Ersten Blick gibt es keine Probleme.

Ich will jetzt nicht die Party verderben, aber ich als nicht Amiga Besitzer, ist in der Pressemitteilung nicht ein neues Feature was mich als normal User interessiert. Schön wenn der RAM Handler usw. besser geworden ist aber wo sind die Endbenutzer Neuheiten? Ich find es toll das sich etwas tut aber leider wieder nur unter der Haube....

@AWDESIGN: Ich freue mich über jedes Update, Stabilität ist immer gut. Aber ich sehe es grundsätzlich auch wie du Es wird immer unten herum viel gebastelt, oben kommt oft nicht viel für den User herum.

Trotzdem freut es mich, dass es mal was gibt. Vielleicht kommt ja wieder etwas Schwung in die Sache...

Angenehme Überraschung (und offenbar tatsächlich ein sehr massives Update, wenn man sich den changelog so ansieht).

Ich werde da ganze einmal in Emulation testen und dann hoffentlich irgendwann 2021 auch mit dem A1222Plus auf "echter" Hardware.

To be honest and to say truth, amigaos its not for "normal casual users" anymore. And that is good and bad. Bad that new blood and users didn't get why there things didn't done as on iPhone, Windows and other stuff where they need no tinker with os anymore. Good that users who want to spend time on understanding something , tinkering with, find out ourself new features , details, i.e. like in old good days, have the same feeling.

Just don't expect from it to be modern as modern windows and iphone. Its just still oldhscool amigaos just on steroird. And it wll not take the world, and, no one want it, anyway

But if you also want to know what new, what changed/fixed : there specially done changelog.guide in the root. And of course, it again mean you need to READ it. Not that things will be put in your face like, we try to motivate you to go in. Its all for those who want what he know And that will not changes anymore, probabaly.

Mir kommt vor das System hat noch mal einen kräftigen Geschwindigkeitschub bekommen, jedenfalls auf meinem X1000.
Weiß jemand für was pasemi_dma.resource ist? Da steht nichts im Changelog darüber.
